Dr. Ryder has been the Medical Director of Oceans Behavioral Hospital at Lake Charles since our opening in the Spring of 2007. He has been in practice for fourteen years in the Southwest Louisiana area serving as Medical Director of several local facilities prior to Oceans. He was the first Board Certified Geriatric Psychiatrist in Southwest Louisiana and was instrumental in the development of our programs addressing the special needs of the geriatric population. He is a graduate of Baylor University in Waco, Texas and LSU in Shreveport, La. He is a member of the American Association for Geriatric Psychiatry and a Board Member of the Governor’s Council on Aging. His insight and experience make him a valued leader of our program here at Oceans
Dr. Ehtesham Ui Haq Syed, M.D.
Dr. Syed has been a practicing Psychiatrist since 1995 and he moved to the Southwest Louisiana area in 2003. He is a Graduate of the Medical College of Virginia and also taught there as an assistant professor in Psychiatry. Since coming to Louisiana he has been in private practice and became associated with Oceans Behavioral Hospital at Lake Charles in 2007. He is a member of the American Psychiatric Association. Additionally, he is a member of the Medical Staff at Lake Charles Memorial Hospital.
Dr. Phillip Conner
Dr. Conner manages the medial needs of our patients here at Oceans Behavioral Hospital at Lake Charles. He is a Graduate of LSU Medical School and has been in practice since 1999. He is Board Certified in Family Medicine. He is a member of the Medical Staff at St. Patrick’s Hospital in Lake Charles. Also he is an Associate Professor at the Lake Charles Family Practice Residency Program since 2004.
